$225 Million OSHPD project that includes the construction of a new 282,000 SF 7 story bed tower addition and renovations of the hospitals imagining department and exterior entrance. The new bed tower project includes new Med Surge and ICU rooms, OR pre-op, a new laboratory, a new and dining and kitchen area, and a new central plant. The interior renovations include multi-phased renovation of the imaging departments including (2) new angio procedure rooms, X-ray and other support spaces.
On this project I pioneered the development of a new cutting-edge technology to track worker production utilizing RTLS (Real Time Location Service) to collect data and monitor prefabrication production levels of bathroom pods. This trial produced very compelling data to suggest improvements with production when prefabrication was implemented on a project. The data that was captured included total time working, productive time spent at the work face, and distances traveled. This data was represented on live dashboards to provide real-time feedback to the workers onsite. Also, this data was then compared to the construction of a conventionally built hospital bathroom pod as a baseline comparison. This technology approach was recognized and published in ENR, the WSJ at the CIFI summer seminar at Stanford University.
